Yes it’s been a while, but we’re finally back with Series 2 of the Pastizzi & Penalties podcast! Just in time for the beginning of the 2026/27 season, I’m joined by Times of Malta sports journalist, and women’s football expert, Gianluca Lia.

In this episode, we touch on why Maltese clubs struggled so badly in UEFA competition this summer, some of the transfers for the upcoming MPL campaign that have caught our eye, and also the two newly promoted clubs – Balzan and Birżebbuġa St Peter’s – will they survive? We also make a bold guess at who will take out the title come the end of the season.
